2009 NOMINEES
| Jake Locker
The junior from Ferndale was the main man in a big team turnaround, helping the Huskies rebound from a winless 2008 to five victories in Coach Steve Sarkisian’s first season. He led the Pac-10 in total offense and touchdown passes. His season total of 2,800 passing yards ranks third on Washington’s all-time list.
|
 | Nick Taylor The junior from British Columbia set or tied three school records, finished in the top 10 in eight of 11 tournaments and became Washington’s first Pac-10 Player of the Year and only the fourth first-team All-American in school history. He was low amateur at the U.S. Open and won the McCormack Medal as the world’s top-ranked amateur golfer.
|
 | Lorenzo Romar After returning his alma mater to national prominence, the former Washington guard added Pac-10 Coach of the Year honors as he led the Huskies to their first outright Pac-10 championship and the school’s first-ever No. 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament. His teams have built the highest six-year win total in UW history. |
 | UW Men's Varsity Eight Crew Coach Michael Callahan’s varsity eight rowers made a rousing charge in the final 500 meters to overtake Pac-10 champion and longtime rival California and win the IRA National Championship. It was the Huskies’ second title in three years and gave Washington an historic sweep of all three eights at the IRA Regatta. |
